The Scottish Science Society welcomes submissions across all scientific disciplines, including humanities research. Submission Process

To submit your manuscript for consideration, please follow these steps:

1. Prepare your manuscript according to our formatting guidelines (detailed below).

2. Ensure all figures, tables, and supplementary materials are properly formatted and included.

3. Submit your complete manuscript package via email to editor@scottishsciencesocietyperiodic.uk with the subject line "Manuscript Submission: [Your Title]".

4. You will receive an automated confirmation of receipt within 24 hours.

5. Your manuscript will undergo our Tri-Model Consensus AI Review process, typically completed within 3 working days.

6. You will receive a comprehensive review report and decision notification.

Manuscript Formatting Guidelines

To ensure efficient processing and review of your submission, please adhere to the following formatting requirements:

File Format: Submit your manuscript as a single PDF file. Additionally, include a Word (.docx) or LaTeX (.tex) version for processing if accepted.

Structure: Your manuscript should include the following sections in order: Title, Author(s) and Affiliation(s), Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgments (if applicable), References, Tables, and Figure Captions.

Length: Research articles should not exceed 8,000 words, including references and figure captions. Review articles may be up to 10,000 words.

Abstract: Provide a concise abstract of no more than 250 words that clearly states the purpose, methods, results, and conclusions of your research.

Keywords: Include 4-6 keywords that best represent the content of your manuscript.

Figures and Tables: All figures and tables should be numbered consecutively and cited in the text. Include high-resolution images (minimum 300 dpi) and ensure all text within figures is legible.

References: Use APA style for all references. Ensure all citations in the text appear in the reference list and vice versa.

Supplementary Materials: Any supplementary materials should be submitted as separate files and clearly labeled.

Code and Data Availability

The Scottish Science Society is committed to research transparency and reproducibility. We strongly encourage authors to make their code and data publicly available whenever possible. For computational or data-intensive research:

Code: Include a link to a public repository (e.g., GitHub, GitLab) containing your code, or submit code files as supplementary materials.

Data: Provide access to the data used in your research through a public repository or as supplementary files. If data cannot be shared publicly due to privacy concerns or other restrictions, please explain the limitations in your manuscript.

Documentation: Ensure your code and data are well-documented to facilitate reproducibility.
